For support teams and founders
Begin with how requests arrive
List the share of work arriving through email, website chat and other channels. Note which issues need visual troubleshooting or an appointment. The right fit depends on this mix and the team’s operating process, rather than a universal company-size threshold.
Evaluate Help Scout fairly
Help Scout currently offers customer-service workflows and AI capabilities. It should not be described as an email inbox without AI. Inspect its current messaging, knowledge and assistance features against the channels and records your team requires.
Evaluate Instaconnect’s conversation workflow
Instaconnect brings website chat, content-grounded AI answers and video or screen-share assistance, together with scheduling and events. Co-browsing is not currently available; chat, video and screen sharing are supported. It does not provide a broad email, SMS and social inbox. If email service is central, verify how that work will remain owned and recorded.
Test the human handoff
Use a straightforward question, an ambiguous answer and a problem that benefits from being shown. Check what the agent receives and offer a text alternative to video. Test when nobody is available. Compare customer effort, repeat explanations and the final record.
Price the operating model
Include the proposed scope and capacity, usage, retained tools and knowledge maintenance. A common workspace may reduce navigation but is not evidence of a shared customer record across all modules. Choose using the workflow demonstrated in a pilot, without assuming an automatic cost or resolution improvement.
