How to Model Intercom Pricing
Build a budget from seats, AI outcomes and the workflows you use.

For founders and support budget owners
Read the applicable package
Intercom offers helpdesk plans and Fin options, including use with other helpdesks. Review the current public price page and your proposal together. Billing frequency, currency, taxes and contractual terms can change the amount you actually pay; a headline seat price is not a complete budget.
Understand the AI charging event
Fin’s current pricing uses an outcome definition. Check how confirmed resolutions, conversations without further help and completed procedures are treated under the applicable terms. Do not assume every charge is simply a message or every human handoff is excluded.
Use a transparent worksheet
Monthly estimate equals helpdesk seats plus expected billable AI outcomes plus selected additional products and other charges. Add implementation and operating effort separately. Use low, expected and high-volume scenarios, and clearly label every forecast assumption rather than presenting it as observed demand.
Check the source of a bill increase
Changes can come from staffing, usage, product selection or contract terms. Reconcile a sample of billable outcomes against your support records. Agree on who monitors usage and what should happen when the budget is approached. Avoid describing the model as inherently unpredictable without examining these controls.
Compare alternatives on the same basis
For Instaconnect, use the scope, capacity and fees in your written proposal, plus any tools you must keep. Do not compare an unlimited imaginary bundle with an actual metered contract. The cheaper option depends on the workflow and usage, so no universal break-even conversation count is claimed here.
