Customer Experience Software: A Buyer’s Checklist
Turn broad requirements into demonstrations your team can assess.
Turn broad requirements into demonstrations your team can assess.
For cx buyers and procurement partners
Build the requirements with operators
Ask support, sales and customer success for recent examples of customer friction. Turn each into a required workflow, expected owner and measurable result. Mark essential requirements separately from useful options and future ideas.
Inspect the data and channel scope
List required channels, customer identifiers, historical records and integrations. Ask vendors to show exactly what reaches the next employee and the destination system. A common login is useful, but it is not evidence of a complete shared customer record.
Use the same demo script
Give each candidate a straightforward case, an ambiguous request and a failure scenario. Test on mobile and with keyboard navigation where customers interact. Record unsupported steps and manual work instead of allowing the presentation to skip them.
Review commercial and operational evidence
Check the proposed scope, capacity and fees, implementation, contracts and current security evidence. Verify claims with the appropriate owner. For Instaconnect, review the Trust page and integration status; certification and regulated-data suitability should not be inferred from the presence of basic security features.
Make acceptance explicit
Define pilot users, duration, required results, migration responsibilities and rollback conditions. Evaluate total operating effort and customer outcomes, not only a feature score. Publish the decision and unresolved limitations internally so sales, service and technical teams operate from the same expectations.
