What Does a CX Platform Actually Include?
Translate a broad software label into a concrete scope of work.
Translate a broad software label into a concrete scope of work.
For first-time cx software buyers
There is no universal bundle
CX means customer experience, but vendors use CX platform for different combinations of service, feedback, communication, analytics and data tools. The label is a starting point for a conversation, not a standardized feature specification.
Ask five scope questions
Which customers and employees use it? Which channels does it cover? What information can it read? What actions can it complete? Where is the final record kept? Written answers make competing proposals easier to compare and expose assumptions early.
Distinguish a workspace from unified data
A workspace can give staff common navigation and access to several products. A shared customer record additionally requires identity matching and linked history across those products. Instaconnect currently offers the workspace; its single cross-module customer timeline is future scope.
Demonstrate a customer journey
Ask a product question, request human help and inspect the next action. If scheduling or an event is involved, verify the destination record as well. Include a failed integration or unavailable employee so the demonstration shows operational limits.
Choose the scope you can operate
Start with a recurring problem, responsible team and measurable outcome. Keep a CRM, commerce system or specialist service tool where its job remains necessary. Buying a broad category does not remove the need for knowledge ownership, staffing and reliable follow-up.
