Choosing an AI Agent for Customer Service
Evaluate knowledge, handoffs and action boundaries before scaling.

For support buyers and product evaluators
Describe what success means
Choose a bounded request type and write its expected outcome. A policy answer, a drafted reply and an account change require different permissions and evidence. Define errors that would stop the pilot before you configure the assistant.
Build a realistic evaluation set
Use anonymized examples with clear expected answers. Include missing documentation, conflicting policies, frustrated customers and questions outside scope. Hold some examples back from tuning. Review correctness and useful escalation separately; a fluent answer can still be wrong.
Inspect the sources and ownership
Check which content the assistant can use and how quickly updates take effect. Assign an owner to each important policy and remove stale versions. Ask how the assistant behaves when it cannot find an answer instead of rewarding confident guesses.
Test handoffs as carefully as answers
Make an employee unavailable, request a different communication channel and reopen a previously closed issue. Verify the customer’s next step and the context available to the person taking over. Avoid counting abandoned conversations as successful automation.
Match the product to the task
Instaconnect is relevant for content-grounded website answers with human chat and supported video assistance. Do not assume autonomous refunds, order changes or account actions. Compare the proposed capacity and review effort, then expand only when your pilot meets the defined acceptance conditions.
